NOMINATIONS FOR CANDIDATES OF

2nd Shift Chief Steward-Works Engineering (W.E.)

There is currently a vacancy in the office of 2nd Shift Chief Steward in Works Engineering. Per the By-Laws of Local 1050:

Article 7 Section 1 reads in part “In order to be eligible as a candidate for the office of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson or Chief Steward, the candidate must be a member in continuous good standing with UAW Local 1050 for a period of one year, immediately prior to date of nomination. Eligible candidates must be a member of the department which they are seeking office.”

Article 11 Section 15 reads in part, “All members in good standing of UAW Local 1050 shall stand nominated for all eligible offices. Nominees shall have seven (7) days in which to notify the Election Committee of their acceptance of the nomination. They shall submit their acceptance to the Election Committee in writing or by signing the nomination acceptance book stating the office for which they are candidates.”

The nomination period will be from October 18, 2016 through October 24, 2016. The book signing will be available at the Union Hall on October 24, 2016 from 6:00AM until 7:30AM and from 2:00PM until 3:30PM.  The Election date will be November 9, 2016 from 5:00AM until 5:00PM. Voting locations will be in the 118 Cafeteria and at the Union Hall. You must be current on your Union Dues; any questions please contact Karon Waites, Jr. at the Hall (216) 341-7900.
