VETERANS COMMITTEE REPORT
10/24/2009
Greetings, brothers & sisters.
As of this report the War in Iraq and Afghanistan is
still dragging along taking a few American lives every day
it seems like. A war that drags on and only a few lose their
lives- a quick report after dinner on the 6:00 news. A small
report occasionally in the morning paper; sitting around the
table waiting for the boss to come out so we can do our
stretches and go to work.
No big deal, right? WRONG!
For every one of our American soldiers that dies in
those godforsaken places, we as American citizens should be
screaming,
"NOT ANOTHER ONE"! And… “WHY?”
Because they were American soldiers is why.
Because they believed in what they were doing and paid the
ultimate price, that is why. How can any of us ignore or not
give resounding response when these tragedies occur? Enough
said.
The Veterans Committee will have a table at the
upcoming Health Fair on Nov. 5th. Stop by and say hello. The
committee will have information available to help guide our
veterans and their families to Benefits they may be entitled
to depending on their length and time of service.
Veterans Day is November 11,2009. The committee will be
holding a short ceremony with a moment of silence at 11:11am
in front of 118 building to commemorate the Armistice
Agreement that ended WWI in 1918 on this date. This was an
important day for our country and the world. In 1954
Armistice Day became Veterans Day and was made a National
day of remembrance for veterans of all branches of service.

In Solidarity,
Jesse Deel
Veterans Committee Chair
