Hello Brother’s  & Sisters of Local 1050. Upon our return to work we have been informed that there are supervisors that have been creating a hostile work environment for our members. In past years we have supported and kept each other strong. We have worked day to day together, walked out of the plant together; and stood together during the strike. We must continue to be our brother’s keeper! Strength is found in numbers, for a divided house cannot stand. If we witness or experience discrimination, or the mistreatment of any of our membership we must stand with our brothers and sisters and oppose each infraction. We must keep accurate notes and have all the facts that will support our grievance. Details are key when reporting incidents. When reporting always come to your union first, and when you report to the Hr dept never go without a representative from the union. It is unfortunate that some of Alcoa’s salaried employees are treating our membership in this manner. We will pursue other avenues and file EEOC charges with the appropriate agencies if Alcoa will not correct the reported incidents. Remember Strength is found in numbers and we are 830 members strong!!!
